What's new in November 2003

Hi guys!

Things (including the new eBook chapter!) are changing in the 'Chinese Dragon' and this month I have no less than 3 games involving that popular line:

To download the November '03 Dragon Sicilian games directly in PGN form click here: Download Games

Johansson - Tan: White goes with the h-pawn:

and Black nets a pawn!

Kovacevic - Markovic: White abandons a kingside attack in favour of a spot of centralisation.

Black gets the upper hand.

Anon - Ward: A Ukranian mystery man tries all sorts of things to defeat this trendy line but fails on all counts!

Predojevic - Jones: A very important line of 9 0-0-0 d5:

Interesting stuff in a previously unexplored line.

Wittman - Taylor: More Yugoslav Attack, this time of the 9 0-0-0 Bd7 variety.

11 Nb3 is not a very common move and frankly a little unnecessary. Crumbs this has been a good Dragon month for Black!

Emms - Tan: John employs the allegedly quiet 6 Bc4 but things heat up and the game could have gone either way!

12 Nd5 - a standard idea for White.

Krnan - Brkic: So we have the Levenfish! Could it be that to get anything White needs to push his f-pawn that one square further. Surely not!?

The position after 9 Qe2 - previously on this site we have looked at 9 e6 but this seems more promising for White.

Keep reading and I'll be back next month. Oh in case I don't make it in time....

HAPPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

Regards, Chris
