Announcement

Please note that, in keeping with our new system based around eBooks and ChessPub.exe, we have decided to discontinue the JavaScript 'pop-up' games.

All this month's new games are easily downloaded in PGN format using ChessPub.exe, open ChessPub.exe, put the date on, say, 2nd April 2002, and then click on '1 e4 e5', over on the right. All these games should appear (and the new ChessPub Guides, too)!

You can also enter the specific ECO code if you are only interested in a particular opening. The updated eBooks can be found at the eBooks Download Page.

An alterntive is to download the February '02 1 e4 e5 games directly in PGN form here: Download Games

The e-pawn emperor's next e4-e5 'monthly update' will be posted at www.chesspublishing.com in early April 2002, and in the meantime he will, as always, reply personally to as many e-mail messages as possible which come to MrMo@ChessPublishing.com. Right now, though, on our Internet site there's a tasty new collection of fresh games with some sneaky embedded puzzles waiting to bring you endless hours of enjoyment in a juicy February update.

New Highlights

Tons of fresh mouth-watering goodies await us, including a king-size quintet of decisive games (namely G13.98-G13.102) involving the Ruy Lopez and a super set of stars such as Anand, Fischer, Korchnoi, Ponomariov, Shaposhnikov, Dervishi...There's also the Scotch Gambit scorching the opposition in the game Sveshnikov-I.Ivanov (G9.25, which contains a special bonus), but Black strikes back in Kozakov-Jonkman (G9.26). Subscriber Wes Bell blasts the King's Gambit in one of his recent personal victories (G4.46), and the ever-imaginative Norman Stephenson plays the Vienna Gambit with characteristic vivacity (see G4.47).

To round things off quietly (NOT!), the Ponziani Opening pounces to win in a mere 15 moves in Zeidler-J.Littlewood (G8.7).

Enjoy the feast!

Very Best Wishes,
Yours Sincerely,
Paul Motwani.
