Announcement

The e-pawn emperor's next e4-e5 'monthly update' will be posted at www.chesspublishing.com in early May 2002 (or sooner), and in the meantime he will, as always, reply personally to as many e-mail messages as possible which come to MrMo@ChessPublishing.com. Right now, though, on our Internet site there's a tasty new collection of fresh games with some sneaky embedded puzzles waiting to bring you endless hours of enjoyment in a juicy March update.

All this month's new games are easily downloaded in PGN format using ChessPub.exe, open ChessPub.exe, put the date on, say, 12th April 2002, and then click on '1 e4 e5', over on the right. All these games should appear (and the new ChessPub Guides, too)!

You can also enter the specific ECO code if you are only interested in a particular opening. Download PGN of March '02 1 e4 e5 games

New Highlights

Tons of fresh mouth-watering goodies await us, including a king-size quartet of decisive games (namely G13.103-G13.106) involving the Ruy Lopez and a super set of stars such as GMs Blatny, Goldin, Ivanchuk, Kramnik, Leko, Parker, Short...

There's also Italian on the menu in games G12.35-G12.37, where the respective winners are Zhelnin, Rossolimo (yes, the late great one who lived from 1910-1975), and super-GM Alexander Graf (who changed his surname from 'Nenashev').

The action continues with 'The Scotch' scorching the opposition in the encounter Sanchez Alvarez-Reyes Barragan (G9.27), but Black strikes back in the clash Danin-J.Geller (G9.28).

For those with a most voracious appetite and seeking still more drama, then G7.23 provides yet another super-GM battle (viz. Topalov vs. Gelfand), but the Petroff Defence very nearly gets pulverised in the process!

Full speed ahead now, and enjoy the feast!

Very Best Wishes,
Yours Sincerely,
Paul Motwani.
