What's new in April 2002
Hi people! First of all I'd like to say I that I really did mean that little speech I gave you all about me eventually getting up to date with my updates! I know it looks pretty bad at the moment but I'm already working on the next one - honest! |
All this month's new games are easily downloaded in PGN format using ChessPub.exe, open ChessPub.exe, put the date on, say, 2nd June 2002, and then click on 'Dragon', over on the right. All these games should appear (and the new ChessPub Guides, too)!

Next update is when I'll be answering new mail but for the time being my offerings are:
Borrego Tena-Martinez Martin; a bizarre offbeat line with effectively a 4th move deviation!
Sluka-Jirovsky; Yugoslav Attack 9 Bc4 with the fascinating 9...a5. Will this catch on I wonder?
And some main line 9 Bc4 with ...Rc8 encounters including: Krivokapic-Savic; 12 g4 (instead of 12 Kb1).
Nyysti-Farago; A typical White win in what I've now dubbed the 'anti ...Rc8' variation.
Perez-Gonzalez; The 'anti ...Rc8' again with what is looking like Black's best shot (12...Re8!?)
Sandipan-Motylev; As above but with 13 h4 as opposed to 13 Bh6.
A heavy focus on a currently critical variation but while that certainly seems to be where the trend is at the moment, next time I'll spread things around a bit more.
Until then
Chris
