What's new in April 2004
Hi guys! Chris |

I am catching up slowly, and this month's offerings are:
Emms - Longson: Positional play turns tactical as a GM 'blunders' the exchange against an up-and-coming England junior.
Sollid - Lie: Another non-standard Dragon move order with an early black queen sortie throwing a spanner in the works:
|
Karklins - Arnold: How not to play the Black side of the Levenfish Dragon.
|
A theme worth taking note of.
Konijn - Borst: Another non-Yugoslav Attack line that can be dangerous for the unprepared Dragon player.
Lahno - Jobava: I promised last month another idea for Black in the 9 0-0-0 d5 10 Kb1 Yugoslav:
|
and though I still feel happy with the old stuff, here I deliver.
Szabo - Boros: Regarding the 9 Bc4 Yugoslav Attack, it seems that ...Qa5 refuses to die. But why are strong White players eschewing the critical lines?
Toma - Cernousek: A delightfully simple game for Black in the Chinese variation.
May up soon and then we'll have June! I'm a poet and don't I know it!
Bye for now.
Chris
