What's new in August 2003
Hi everyone! Gee I'm making a habit of getting my updates done on time although I agree that I could contribute a bit more to the forum. I'll be checking out that soon although there never seems to be enough time in the day. |

Anyway let me stop my moaning and inform you of the delights that August has to offer you:

The position after 17 h5.
Walsh - Roselli Mailhe: Another (well for all intents and purposes) Kb1 and h4 Yugoslav Attack (we're talking about our favourite ...Qa5 variation). Introducing the Soltis style ...h5,

could theory be about to embark on a new trend (or is it just rubbish)?
Eisenbeiser - Pirisi: For the second month running an unexpected early Bxf8 in the 9...d5 Yugoslav Attack:

So is the Dragon bishop really worth a rook? Plenty of questions asked and some answers still awaited!
Hungaski - Wojtkiewicz: An instructive Semi-Accelerated Dragon. Nothing particular new here though and it seems that Black still stands well.

Position after 9...Nh6.
Dworakowska - Rasmussen: This time it is Black who prematurely parts company with his dark-squared bishop. Are we developing a moral to this story I wonder? A spot of pawn grabbing in the Hyper-Accelerated Dragon but is all as it seems?
That's it for now. September is going to be a busy month for me but I'll be back at the end of it with more Dragon thrills and spills.
Bye for now!
Chris
