Hi everyone!

Well I'm getting excited because I'm off to play some chess. To Gent first for a spot of practice before the British Champs and surely I'm going to get a Dragon or two!?

Well anyway even if I don't, you will because this month I have for you seven interesting encounters:

Shomoev - Williams: A potentially critical line in the Chinese Dragon:

11 Nd5 is the move that Eddy Dearing recommends in his impressive text Play the Sicilian Dragon, Black players beware!

Kosteniuk - Pogonina: Accuracy required in the 9 0-0-0 Nxd4 Yugoslav Attack. At this level any small mistake will prove costly.

Delchev - Nataf: The Dragon/Najdorf hybrid takes a beating:

but is all as it seems?

Adams - Hydra: Sit back and enjoy WHITE being ground down in the often tedious 'fianchetto variation':

Dominguez - Ivanchuk: Attempting to get to the truth of a main line Maroczy:

Does White have a lasting edge or is it just a draw?

Ghaem Maghami-Alizadeh: Following on from last months quickest Dragon win (for either colour) in the TWICs since 'Megabase 2005', now witness the shortest length decisive Accelerated Dragon encounter (yep it's even quicker!).

Lastin - Savchenko: After 6 Na3:

Black apparently forgets his development and no doubt wishes that he hadn't got out of bed!

Hopefully I'll have something interesting from my own encounters to report in July or August but until then, take it easy!

Bye,

Chris
