Hi guys!

Thanks for your e-mails of support following my little outburst in the previous update but it's no big deal - honest!
Anyway, moving on...

Download PGN of May '06 Dragon Sicilian games

First up, Stellwagon - Fedorov features a Black novelty in the Dragadorf (or is it Dragodorf? - see Richard's post), 9...Nc5:

Another strong player championing this trendy variation, but this time at least, possibly not a strong idea.

A recurrent theme in this update is the ...b5 pawn sacrifice and that first crops up in the Hermansson - Jianu Chinese Dragon debut (on this site) for 11 Kb1:

Undoubtedly destined to feature again is the 10...b5 pawn offering against the Anti-Chinese Dragon 10 h4:

Black loses in Brkic - Cebalo but there is definitely some mileage in this idea that has been on my mind for some time.

Effectively a 10 Bb3 Yugoslav Attack, Berg - Guseinov provides Black with another possibility in the exciting ...Nxd4 and ...b5 line, 13...e5:

Again Black loses but here he deserves better.

D'innocente-Kayar is an old ...Qa5 Karpov variation Yugoslav and a debut on this site for the 14...Nd3+ that questions old theory:

and appears to be at least good enough for a draw.

Stock - Kacheisvili continues Black's fight-back for this month. It is a Levenfish turned Classical and an instructive grind by a strong Grandmaster.

Back in June!
